Massachusetts Co-Director | Hybrid in Boston or Northampton, MA

Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund are seeking a State Co-Director to work with existing co-Director, Elizabeth Saunders, to oversee our Massachusetts office. Our Massachusetts focus on climate justice and clean energy; meaningful access to energy efficiency programs especially for environmental justice communities; protecting drinking, groundwater and surface water resources from contaminants like lead and PFAS; safeguarding public health by reducing the use of toxic chemicals and holding polluting corporations accountable; supporting and cultivating a new generation of youth leaders in the environmental justice movement, and electing pro-environment candidates to office at the local, state and federal level.

Student Internships in Maryland

Our Maryland office is seeking several volunteer interns to work with us on several of our ongoing campaigns. Our internship programs are entirely remote, and start/end dates and weekly schedules are flexible to suit an intern's needs. . Our 2024 priorities include passing state-wide legislation to eliminate incentives for trash incineration, promote composting, and zero waste; support in developing composting infrastructure; organizing to demand improvements to Baltimore City’s policies on sewage backups into homes; working with the Mid-Atlantic Justice Coalition to build community-led demands for environmental justice in Maryland.

Community Organizer (Part-time) | Hybrid in Pittsburgh, PA

Part-time Youth Action Collaborative Coordinator | Boston, MA

Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund are seeking a part-time coordinator to lead the new Youth Action Collaborative (YAC). In this role, you will adapt and implement the YAC Curriculum to create a tailored after school program that fosters environmental knowledge and essential professional organizing skills. By partnering with teachers at partner schools, you will recruit enthusiastic YAC participants, providing them with opportunities to act on local environmental issues. You will also support and mentor youth organizers in executing a Youth Participatory Action Research Project addressing a local environmental concern. Additionally, your assistance with grant fundraising for the YAC and other assigned fundraising projects will play a vital role in sustaining our impactful initiatives.

Youth Engagement Program Manager | Boston, MA

Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund seek a full-time Program Manager for our Boston office responsible for leading the organization's youth programming. You will adapt and implement the Youth Action Collaborative Curriculum to create a customized after school program, fostering environmental knowledge and professional organizing skills, encouraging youth to address local environmental issues, and collaborating with partner schools' teachers. Additionally, you will support and guide youth organizers in implementing a Youth Participatory Action Research Project and manage the college internship program.

Environmental Advocate | Hybrid in New Jersey

As a Environmental Advocate, you will be collaborating with a dedicated staff team to design and execute components of statewide issue campaigns. Serving as a representative and fostering relationships within coalitions, campaign partnerships, and the environmental and justice communities. Coordinating lobbying efforts and facilitating communication with state legislators and agency staff.

Field Canvass Directors | Multiple Locations

As a newly hired director, you will embark on a comprehensive four to six-month field training program, working closely with experienced directors to learn our successful fundraising model and gain hands-on experience. Throughout your time with us, you will receive continuous support from our regional management staff. By the end of your first year, you will have acquired the skills needed to effectively run grassroots campaigns, including fundraising, donor recruitment, campaign communications, and staff management.
