This session will explore the policy implications for a transition towards a multi-level governance approach for water adaptation in cities, addressing the need for coordinated action in response to climate change.

The objective of this session is to better understand the nuanced policy changes and developments that are required when embracing a multi-tiered, collaborative approach to water management in cities. The session aims to unpack the complexities of coordinating water adaptation policies across different government levels—from local to international—and to explore the effective engagement of various stakeholders in this process. Through this dialogue, the session seeks to identify strategies for overcoming the challenges of governance fragmentation to achieve a cohesive, comprehensive, and sustainable framework for urban water resilience in the face of climate change.
